By 2052, Bougainville will be high income, educated, healthy, peaceful and Christian sovereign nation.’

Bougainville is actively pursuing a bright future as it aims to become an independent, high-income, educated, healthy, peaceful, and Christian nation by 2052, as outlined in the “Bougainville Long Term Vision 2052.” This strategic plan was the focal point of a recent induction program hosted by the Bougainville Strategic Research & Planning Secretariat, attended by ABG Ministers and their Department Secretaries.

ABG’s Acting President, Hon. Robin Wilson, delivered the keynote address at the event, emphasizing the critical role of the Long Term Vision in preparing Bougainville for life post-political independence. He highlighted the necessity of redefining governance rather than returning to old ways, as the region moves towards becoming a sovereign nation.

Wilson urged all ministers and secretaries to fully commit to turning the Vision into actionable plans and discussed the induction’s aim to acquaint the leadership with the roadmap outlined in the Vision 2052.

The program marked the beginning of a series of induction workshops intended to be conducted at both the headquarters and district levels in the coming weeks. These workshops are designed to ensure that leadership, public servants, and citizens are well-informed about the Vision’s goals and the steps needed to achieve them.
